Quinceañera Invitation Wording: English and Spanish Examples for Every Part of the Celebration

Quinceañera still life with a tiara on a satin pillow, pink roses, sparkly heels, and a blush ball gown

A quinceañera is more than a birthday party. For many families it is a Mass, a reception, a court of damas and chambelanes, a list of padrinos, and relatives traveling from two or three countries. The invitation has to hold all of that, often in two languages, and still feel like it belongs to the quinceañera herself.

This guide walks through what to include, formal English wording, natural Spanish wording, bilingual invitations, how to name parents and padrinos (including divorced parents), and the details guests always ask about: dress code, RSVP, and timing.

Rizz Invites is built for celebrations with a long guest list and a lot of moving parts. Browse our quinceañera invitations, generate a custom design with AI, or upload the artwork you already chose. Send by text, email, or both, or share one link with the tías who know every cousin's number. RSVPs and the split of adults and children land in one dashboard, and a reminder goes out the day before. Up to 10 guests are free. Bigger celebrations are a one-time $14.99 (up to 50 invitations), $29.99 (51 to 150), or $64.99 (up to 1,000). No ads and no subscription.

What a Quinceañera Invitation Includes

Every family celebrates a little differently, but most quince invitations cover these pieces:

  • The quinceañera's full name, usually her first and middle name, sometimes with both surnames.
  • The parents, and sometimes grandparents, who are hosting.
  • The padrinos, or godparents and sponsors. Some families list only the padrinos de honor. Others list every sponsor on a separate insert or page.
  • The Mass (Misa de Acción de Gracias), with the church name, address, and start time.
  • The reception, with the venue, address, and start time.
  • The court of honor, if you want to name the damas, chambelanes, and chambelán de honor.
  • Dress code, RSVP date, and contact.

If the Mass and reception are at different places, give each its own time and address. Guests who skip the Mass need to know exactly when to arrive at the reception.

A note on space: a printed card fills up fast. Many families keep the main invitation focused on the quinceañera, parents, Mass, and reception, then list padrinos and the court on a second page or on the digital invitation's details.

Confirma tu asistencia antes del 15 de julio.

A quick tip on tone: "los invitamos" and "confirmar su asistencia" are formal and work for the whole family. "Te invito" and "confirma tu asistencia" are warmer and more personal, a good fit for friends or a digital invitation sent to classmates. Pick one register and stay with it on the same card.

Bilingual Quinceañera Invitations

Bilingual invitations let every guest read the card, from grandparents in Guadalajara to classmates down the street. There are two common layouts.

Side by side or stacked: the full invitation in Spanish, then the full invitation in English. This is the easiest to read.

Blended: the opening line in Spanish, details in both languages, and a shared closing.

Con la bendición de Dios y el amor de mi familia
With God's blessing and the love of my family

Sofía Isabel Gutiérrez

te invita a celebrar sus XV años
invites you to celebrate her quinceañera

sábado 12 de junio de 2027 · Saturday, June 12, 2027

Keep names and addresses in one language so they are not repeated. Digital invitations help here, since you have more room than a printed card and can include both versions without shrinking the type.

How to Name Parents, Divorced Parents, and Padrinos

Accuracy matters more than tradition. Name the people who are hosting and the people the family wants to honor.

Married parents: "Mr. and Mrs. Roberto Gutiérrez" or "Roberto and Ana María Gutiérrez." In Spanish, "Roberto Gutiérrez y Ana María López de Gutiérrez," or simply "Roberto Gutiérrez y Ana María López."

Divorced parents: list each parent on a separate line, without "and" between them, which would suggest a couple.

Together with her parents
Ana María López
Roberto Gutiérrez

In Spanish:

Junto con mis padres
Ana María López
Roberto Gutiérrez

Remarried parents: include stepparents if they are hosting or the family wants them named: "Ana María and David Torres" on one line, "Roberto Gutiérrez" on the next.

A parent who has passed away: a gentle line works in either language: "and in loving memory of her father, Roberto Gutiérrez" or "y en memoria de mi padre, Roberto Gutiérrez."

Padrinos: the padrinos de honor usually appear on the main invitation. Other sponsors (padrinos de misa, de vestido, de pastel, de anillo, and so on) can go on an insert or a second page:

Padrinos de Honor: Luis Ramírez y Carmen Ortiz
Padrinos de Misa: Jorge y Patricia Silva
Padrinos de Pastel: Miguel y Rosa Delgado

The court: "Corte de Honor" or "Court of Honor," followed by the chambelán de honor, then damas and chambelanes.

Dress Code, RSVP, and When to Send

Dress code. Most quinceañeras are formal or semi-formal. One line is enough: "Formal attire," "Etiqueta," "Vestimenta formal," or "Cocktail attire." If the quinceañera's color is a theme, you can add, "We kindly ask guests not to wear [color]," or in Spanish, "Les pedimos amablemente no vestir de color rosa," since that color belongs to the quinceañera.

Adults only or limited seats. Be direct and kind: "We have reserved 2 seats in your honor" / "Hemos reservado 2 lugares en su honor." If the reception is adults only, "Evento solo para adultos" or "Adults only, please." Our guide to adults-only invitation wording has more ways to say it gently.

RSVP. Give a date and a contact: "Kindly reply by May 1 to Ana María, (555) 123-4567" or "Favor de confirmar antes del 1 de mayo." Set it four to six weeks before the event so you can finalize the venue count and seating.

When to send. Many families send quinceañera invitations six to eight weeks before the celebration. If relatives are flying in, send save-the-dates four to six months ahead, then the full invitation later.

Digital Quince Invitations and Save-the-Dates

Quinceañera guest lists are big, spread out, and full of people who share one phone number for a whole household. Paper invitations still matter to many families, especially for grandparents and padrinos, but digital invitations solve the rest. Many families do both: printed cards for the people who will keep them, and a digital invitation for everyone else.

With Rizz Invites, you can send the invitation by text and email at the same time, share a link when you don't have every contact, and see RSVPs, including adults and children, in one list. Guests reply without creating an account. If the reception time changes, you update the details once instead of resending everything.
